Faith Formation for Children at St. John Paul II
St. John Paul II and Mary Queen of Apostles offers students (k-8) faith formation classes on Wednesday evenings. Our staff and volunteers utilize scripture lessons, stories, videos, songs, and crafts to encourage students to build their Catholic faith from year to year. Expect parental involvement in some of the lessons as well.
Our program also helps prepare students to receive the Sacraments. Preparation for the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist occurs in 2nd grade. Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation occurs in 7th and 8th grade.
Faith Formation classes are offered on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:15pm from October to May.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd – CGS
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a faith formation method that is rooted in sacred scripture, contemplative prayer and the liturgy of the church. Catechists go through extensive training to ensure the atrium materials and presentations mirror the life of the church.
We currently serve children ages 3 -6 in our Level 1 atrium on a weekly basis. We hope to expand CGS to include Levels 2 & 3 serving children ages 7 – 12.
