Welcome to Religious Education Program at St. John Paul II Parish! We meet Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30PM! We offer classes for K-8th grade! We opened our program in September 2014 with 108 registered children. The mission of our Program flows from the mission of the parish: empowering our families to become the hands and feet of Christ in our community, by leading our students and through them inviting their parents to understand the exhortation of Christ from the Gospel of Matthew: “Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’ (Matthew 25:31-46).
For Registered Parishioners of St. John Paul II Parish:
Our program will still be based on the Stewardship model. We want families to be involved in the life of the Parish and give back by using their gifts and talents to serve. This means, families will sign up for at least 3 ministries for them to get involved with over the course of the year. Ministries are listed on the registration form.
For Non-Registered Parishioners:
It is protocol within the Church that the children should be enrolled in the faith formation program at the parish where they are registered. If you do not have a home parish, we ask that you consider SJP2 your home. Call the office to register. If, for whatever reason, you cannot attend the FF program at your home parish, please have your pastor send Fr. Lam a letter indicating his blessing upon your decision.
The fee for Non-registered parishioners will be $100 per child. Any registrations will only be accepted by approval of the Director of Faith Formation.
Due to classroom size, we will have a cut-off number for both nights, so please get your registration forms in early to reserve a spot. We are excited to serve many children and youth in our area.
It is our obligation to translate the love of God in serving our neighbor through acts of charity and kindness. The Corporal Works of Mercy, has foundation in Christ’s exhortation of Matthew 25:31-46, and is the starting point of our program at St. John Paul II Parish. When we care for those in need, we care for Christ himself.
