Purpose: Liturgical Art and Environment is an ad hoc of the Pastoral Council that is responsible for making the worship space worthy for liturgical, devotional and contemplative prayer.
Responsibilities: Make environment suitable for all liturgical seasons, ordinary time and special feasts and occasions. The environment is appropriate when it is beautiful, hospitable and liturgically accurate and encourages participation.
Gifts to share: Love of liturgy, floral arranging, sewing, carpentry, art, and design are but a few of the talents that are needed to make this committee operate effectively. However, artistic experience is not necessary, but a willingness and desire to enhance the quality of our worship is always required.
Commitment: The committee holds monthly meetings and will create a rotating schedule of volunteers to adorn the space on a weekly basis. During ordinary time, the time commitment will be approximately 1-2 hours a month. During Advent, Christmas, Lent and the Easter seasons the time commitment will be approximately 2-3 hours per month.
Membership: Any registered and active member of the parish with gifts to share is welcome to join the Committee. We are always seeking individuals who wish to participate in this ministry.
Term: Discuss at next meeting…
