“I will sing and make music to the Lord.” Psalm 27:6
Welcome to the Music Ministry program at St. John Paul II Parish! Please see below for ways you can get involved.
Singing is a primary way to participate in the Liturgy. Our adult choir is composed of volunteers who use their talents of music skills and commit to weekly rehearsals, liturgies, and ongoing music formation. High School teens and adults are invited to participate. The adult choir practices Thursday nights from 7:00-8:00 PM from September-June with some extra rehearsals for the Christmas and Easter Seasons.
Our student choir is composed of children 2nd-8th grade. The children practice on Wednesday nights from 5:30-6:00 from September-May. Students sing monthly at our Student Led Liturgies throughout the school year.
The cantor is both a singer and a leader of congregation song. From within the choir those with exceptional singing skills may be invited for the ministry of cantor.
Instrumentalists add to the beauty of liturgical music. All skilled instrumental musicians are invited to join us for practice on Thursday nights!
If you would be interested in joining our adult or student choir, please call our Interim Director of Music, Sarah Hamstra in the Parish office.
